This site is a humble tribute to the memory of one
of the most talented and popular actresses of the 1950's and 1960's. Forever known to television audiences as "The Farmer's Daughter", Inger Stevens' career also included many other noteworthy roles in both television and film. Her two guest appearances on Rod Serling's sci-fi classic The Twilight Zone series are often cited as among the best episodes of that historic program's entire run. Inger's sudden and early death on April 30, 1970 most certainly left the Seventh Art without a promising star.
Launched in 1997, this website has evolved into an ongoing tribute to Ms. Stevens' life and career. It is heartwarming to know that Inger is fondly remembered by many who recall her style, warmth, humor and talent. Although many years have gone by since her passing, Inger's commitment to her craft has left us a body of work that still captivates an appreciative audience today. It is surprising to see how many new fans "discover" her whenever one of her films or television appearances is broadcast: for example, a local station or the SyFy network broadcasts an annual Twilight Zone marathon, and Inger's appearance in "The Hitchhiker" episode will invariably be included, resulting in a surge in the number of visitors to our site. The spike in interest is understandable:
one only needs to catch a glimpse of her trademark smile - from the slightly crooked, mischievous grin to the full blown, hearty expression that accented her dimpled cheek - to be enthralled by this remarkable artist and individual. For those who knew her personally and for the countless others who know her through her work, Inger Stevens remains a gifted actress, an unforgettably beautiful woman, and a kind, caring human being who lives on in our memories. The years since her untimely death have done little to diminish the impression she left us. With that in mind, I invite you to join me on this simple journey to Inger Stevens' time and life.
