Her first roles were minor parts in a number of mid-1950's series. Later, she would guest star on a number of popular programs in the early sixties.
Her greatest success would come with The Farmer's Daughter series, the vehicle that put her name and face in American homes across the country and that still enchants viewers today with its warmth, simple storylines, and subtle humor.
During the course of her career, she also made a number of films made specifically for television: The Borgia Stick, The Mask of Sheba (aka "Quest"), and her final film, Run, Simon, Run. In early 1970, after an absence of nearly 4 years, Inger was preparing to make her return to network television in producer Aaron Spelling's detective series, The Most Deadly Game, when she died.
